چکیده

Abstract Fragmentation impacts disconnecting protected areas in Gunungkidul Regency, namely Bunder Forest Park (BFP) and the Paliyan Wildlife Reserve (PWR). This also decreases carrying capacity PWR, degrading Long-Tailed Macaque (LTM) habitat. Therefore, this research aims to analyze landscape structure between Protected areas, habitat suitability of LTM determine connectivity potential as an environmental management strategy. applied for investigates fragmentation using Fragstat 4.2 ArcGIS 10.8 software. Meanwhile, scoring weighting methods habitat, while Least Cost Patch Analysis (LCPA) supported by corridor. The results showed that land cover changed from 1999-2021. Agriculture, scrubs, settlements are dominant suspected cause forest fragmentation. Based on analysis parameters such cover, vegetation density, slope, altitude, distance river, sources threats, most area is intermediate class. These findings can be integrated one environment strategies. Good used designate a corridor has greatest developed BFP PWR should maintained wildlife crossing.

Finding the corridor more traveled.

A s wildlands give way to an expanding human footprint, scientists and land managers have struggled to develop land conservation strategies that protect biodiversity. A favored strategy is to connect large habitat areas with landscape corridors (1–3). Yet, the scientific question remains: Do corridors actually work to promote dispersal and conserve biodiversity? In this issue of PNAS, Gillies a...

Wild life: The elusive fosa (Cryptoprocta ferox) is the top predator in the dry deciduous forests of Madagascar, but very little was known about its biology until the 1990s. The presence of volunteer groups studying its role in the forest’s ecology has also helped to protect its habitat. (Photo: Earthwatch/ Luke Dollar.) Evaluating Landscape Options for Corridor Restoration between Giant Panda Reserves

The establishment of corridors can offset the negative effects of habitat fragmentation by connecting isolated habitat patches. However, the practical value of corridor planning is minimal if corridor identification is not based on reliable quantitative information about species-environment relationships. An example of this need for quantitative information is planning for giant panda conservat...

Using niche-modelling and species-specific cost analyses to determine a multispecies corridor in a fragmented landscape

Misiones, Argentina, contains the largest remaining tract of Upper Paraná Atlantic Forest ecoregion; however, ~50% of native forest is unprotected and located in a mosaic of plantations, agriculture, and pastures. Existing protected areas are becoming increasingly isolated due to ongoing habitat modification. These factors, combined with lower than expected regional carnivore densities, emphasi...
